Mulit Func Engineering Director

Lockheed Martin

Les Wetherell is currently the Multi-Functional Engineering Director responsible for the leadership, collaboration and integration of multi–disciplinary Engineering & Technology (E&T) teams for geographically separated sites across the MFC E&T function.  This directorate is also responsible for the strategy, execution, management and governance of E&T Technical Talent Programs (TTPs) including Fellows, Group Technical Staff (GTS) and Subject Matter Experts Program (STEP) program management requirements. Additionally, this directorate is responsible for E&T workforce planning business demands across the enterprise as well as for the Critical Skill Management Process. Les has over 20 years of experience leading complex, multi-functional engineering, science, and technology research departments across multiple business units within Lockheed Martin and the United States Government.

Previously, Les served in other key leadership roles at Lockheed Martin including  Senior Manager for Systems Integration & Test Engineering, Senior Manager and Program Manager for Air Dominance Program and Senior Manager and Program Manager for the Chief Information Officer for the F-35 at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics just to name a few.

Mr. Wetherell is retired, United States Army and holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Psychology and MBA/MIS degrees. Additionally, he holds numerous leadership positions in the community, professional certifications, and military medals and honors over the course of his distinguished career within the United Stated Army.
